Pop Singing — Grade One

Course description

The Pop Singing Grade One course teaches students how their voice works anatomically, how to protect it, and how to use it with control and genuine artistic expression — not just how to learn songs.

Technical modules cover vocal warmup, breathing and diaphragmatic support, the Laws of Singing (posture, resonance, vowel shaping), ear training, and vocal health and anatomy. The repertoire spans musical theatre classics, folk, film, classic and contemporary pop, reggae, and British rock, chosen to build specific skills such as phrasing, dynamics, pitch accuracy, and register management. The course is suitable for ages 8 and up, including teens and adults, with optional preparation for Trinity College London or equivalent external examination.
