Certificate in Art & Sculpture
Course description
The Certificate in Art & Sculpture is a one-year, 30-credit foundation programme for adult learners entering creative careers, transitioning into the arts, or building a portfolio for further study.
Admission is portfolio-based rather than credential-based, so no prior formal art training is required — just a demonstrated commitment to creative practice. Across two semesters, students build core skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, and art history, alongside a Studio Practice course that teaches sketchbook discipline, critique, and professional habits. The programme is internationally calibrated against IB Visual Arts (DP), Cambridge AS & A Level Art & Design, and BFA foundation curricula at schools such as OCAD U, Emily Carr, RISD, and Central Saint Martins, and is recognised as foundation-equivalent for transfer credit. The Certificate culminates in a Foundation Portfolio Show.
